Hooking Rugs with Judy Wylie

In June, I was invited to attend the home of Judy Wylie, who was hosting a gathering of rug hookers on an early summer’s day. The talented group, their works-in-progress, and their camaraderie were so enjoyable, but the home and work of Judy Wylie was astounding! First of all, her home is her art. She has painted and arranged her home to reflect her calm and joyous sense of color and craftsmanship. I had no idea what a prolific craftswoman she is. Beautiful rugs were located at every turn. To add to the fun, Judy and friend Susan Ferraro had a show of their combined rugs at the local Town Office, so I was able to see a few more pieces. We loved Judy’s work so well, we’ve invited her to show at Maine Fiberarts’ gallery in Topsham before 2019 is out. Stay tuned to learn more.
