With Midcoast Spinners
Midcoast Spinners is a very active and creative group of textile enthusiasts meeting at the Congregational Church in Waldoboro on the second Thursday of each month.
Since I started attending meetings only a few months ago, we have:
- had a Great Wheel spinning day,
- traveled to the Newbury School of Weaving in Vermont,
- met at the Belfast Cohousing Center, and
- held a spinning day in Rockport.
The group hosts workshops, too! On a beautiful summer day in July, member Pam MacByrne shared her knowledge about natural dyeing at Aldermere Farm in Rockport. This represented a great chance to visit the farm and to learn about natural dyeing.
Twenty-two women showed up, several of whom were experienced dyers and a few of whom had never dyed before.
