While touring Rangeley, Arlene and I visited the studio of art quilter Anne Walker. Anne and her husband Rick built the house several years ago and included space for a large working studio downstairs. The studio contains comfortable seating, a reference library, a display of quilts along a long hallway, working tables, stored fabrics, machines and tools, and an idea board with many of the projects Anne is pursuing. Her studio is meticulous and beautifully appointed, and it is an education in itself to see how it is set up. It was also rewarding to see Anne’s quilts firsthand. Anne is a member of Art Quilts Maine, Studio Art Quilt Association, and Maine Fiberarts, has had work appear in several shows around the state, and is available for visits or for workshops. Her studio is a must see for fiber lovers touring the area. Find her contact information here.
