Before we started on “The Story Project,” Nancy wanted to tell her story to a group of interested braiders in various parts of New England during a Zoom meeting. She requested help from Maine Fiberarts to create a visual slide presentation to go along with her narration. This presentation is the result of her request (but without the live narration). Created by Maine Fiberarts’ staff, Christine Macchi, interview and photography, and Carol Jones, layout, design and online publishing.

Nancy is actually one of the key fiber artists whose “visual memoir” inspired a huge interest in braiding, culminating in our current exhibition called “Braiding Now” on view at Maine Fiberarts, 13 Main Street in Topsham, Maine until July 1, 2023. The exhibition contains about 100 braided works by Maine artists.

There is also a chance to purchase a ticket for a drawing to win one of Nancy’s rugs which is on display at the show. Tickets can be purchased through December 31, 2023. You can read more about it here.

Gallery Hours are Wednesday-Friday 11-3 and Saturday 11-2. We hope to see you there!
