Shearing Day at Hatchtown Farm

Hatchtown Farm in Bristol, Maine, held its shearing early in April and several stalwart friends braved a very cold day to help with the harvest of wool. Farm owners Pam and Jim Child produce prize-winning Coopworth sheep and fleeces, and their friend and fellow shepherd Emily returned to the farm one more year to shear. Fleeces, dyed and natural yarns, sheepskins and other products are available from their shop/studio right on the farm or you can check their website to see what fibers are available. A lovely day of sheep, friends and workerbees, followed by a great potluck. Visit Hatchtown Farm for the latest in woolies.
