Georgetown Historical Society Fiber Exhibit

“With Hands and Hearts: The Threads of Our Island History,” is an exhibit at the Georgetown Historical Society now through October 12, 2013. “More than 100 years of handmade items that tell the stories of our island people,” according to the poster. It is so interesting that the community chose to show its history through its textile work, and the work is varied. Quilts, basketry, historic lace and clothing, antique dolls, contemporary hooked rugs, sewn garments and more make up the show. A colorful history indeed!

  1. Dear Christine,

What a wonderful job you did photographing our summer exhibit fiber arts exhibit here at GHS. Thank you! The exhibit will end at noon on Saturday, October 12 and we invite those who have not seen it (or want to see it again) to stop in on the next two Saturdays from 10am-Noon or next Wednesday from 10am to 5pm to see it. Thank you and all at Maine Fiber Arts for the work you do and the connections you make.

    Best wishes,
    Jeanne Bailey McGowan for GHS
